Luck, Energy, and a Little Nerve: Four Job Offers and the Power of Putting Yourself Out There

This week, it all came together, four job offers in two weeks, networking wins, and a powerful reminder that energy and action change everything.

It started with a Monday morning call: a Sprinter who’d just started a new job (and quickly realised it wasn’t right) needed a plan. Two weeks of nothing, then, after a quick reset, a dose of positivity, and a solid strategy, he had recruiters chasing him by Friday.
Was it magic? Nope. Just the right energy, a practical plan, and a willingness to try (again).
Networking was the name of the game. I spent the week teaching sprinters how to use their network, old bosses, school-gate contacts, LinkedIn connections.
Yes, I got a negative response Saturday night (ouch). But within 30 minutes, three positive messages rolled in. That’s how it goes: sometimes you’ll get a “no,” but sometimes you get a “yes” that makes it all worth it.

One sprinter reached out to a former boss and landed a promising lead. Another followed up with a LinkedIn Live tip and scored three new conversations. Even I took a chance, pitching a university on my job search strategies. They have brilliant employability staff, but I brought an external perspective and recruiter relationships they don’t have, hopefully helping students land jobs faster.
The lesson this week? Take chances. Change your energy. If you believe nothing will work, nothing will.
But if you get a plan together and put yourself out there, things shift. It’s not about luck, it’s about showing up, even when it’s scary.
