Graduate job vacancies fell by 45.6 per cent in the year to July, reaching their lowest level since 2016. Non-graduate entry-level adverts also fell by 8 per cent, while total advertised UK jobs were down by 9.6 per cent. This isn’t simply a difficult year for graduates. The organisation that told us the UK's 45-month hiring downturn ended in June has quietly changed its story. Three weeks later, using fresher data, it's now saying July was actually the first month without a decline.
